Our Mission: To serve, support, and advocate for LGBTQ+ youth across the Granite State.
Job Summary: NH Outright seeks a seasonal Pride Coordinator to serve as our team lead, and event manager for Portsmouth Pride 2025. Portsmouth Pride is our signature event drawing tens of thousands of participants each year. We are seeking an experienced event planner to help us manage the logistics, and planning of pride in a time of organizational growth. You are the glue that helps make the magic happen! You’re an important event lead on a collaborative and supportive team.
This is a fun and dynamic role that is a great fit for someone looking for flexible hours. This position runs from approximately mid-Feburary to the end of June. The role will be part-time with gradually accelerating hours as the event approaches. Full-time availability for the month of June is a must.
Responsibilities will include:
-Serving as the primary point and communications person for City and State entities.
-Managing the scheduling of multiple org and community events across pride month.
-Working with applicable staff on community outreach and key partnerships.
-Convening our Pride Committee of key leaders and board members on a monthly, or biweekly basis.
-Helping to recruit and coordinate volunteers.
-Community outreach to local businesses, and organizations.
-Representing Outright with local partners, and stakeholders.
-Managing necessary logistics for the Pride launch party, day of (including the parade and festival), and possibly additional weekend events.
-Helping to ensure the success of the state’s oldest, and one of the largest Pride festivals!
Desired skills/abilities:
-An understanding of, and commitment to LGBTQ+ issues in New Hampshire, youth empowerment, and DEIJ-B are a must;
-Experience planning and managing events with a diverse constituency are essential.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-Relationship management skills (with knowledge of the Seacoast preferred)
-Experience with nonprofit organizations is helpful, but not required.
-Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
-Experience with website management is a bonus.
-General computer skills, including Google Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office (or equivalent).
